The Health Access Project is a department of Community Health Centers, Inc., a private, nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Initial funding for HAP was through a Community Access Program Grant through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration. HAP receives substantial in-kind donations of medical care from hospitals, physicians, labs and other health care providers.

The Health Access Project welcomes support from individuals, corporations, foundations and all levels of government.
