offers information and training to health professionals working
with ethnic communities. The HAP Multicultural Services Coordinator
is available to answer specific questions about multicultural communication,
treating patients
from different cultures, and options for obtaining interpreter services
for non-HAP patients.
HAP also offers Multicultural Awareness Trainings on a series
of topics such as what is cultural competence, learning how to
work with a medical interpreter, multicultural communication, benefits
of cross cultural working teams, cultural health beliefs and culture
specific trainings on several different communities.
